3 Simple Steps to Start Generating Leads from Your Website

If you want to start generating leads from your website, there are a few simple steps you can take to make it happen.

1. Creating an Irresistible Giveaway: The First Step to Successful Lead Generation

If you want to generate leads from your website, you need to give your visitors a reason to give you their contact information. And the best way to do this is by offering an irresistible giveaway - something that your target audience will find valuable and that they can't resist.

Here are some popular types of giveaways that can work well for lead generation:

Free Guides: Create a downloadable guide that solves a common problem or provides valuable information for your target audience. Make it visually appealing and easy to read.

Free Mini-Course: Offer a free email course that teaches your target audience something new or helps them achieve a specific goal. Make it easy to sign up and provide real value in each lesson.

Free Webinar: Host a free webinar that provides in-depth information on a specific topic related to your industry. Make it interactive and engaging, and provide plenty of time for Q&A.

eBooks: Create a comprehensive eBook that provides in-depth information on a topic related to your industry. Make it visually appealing and easy to read, and offer it as a free download in exchange for contact information.

When creating your giveaway, make sure it's tailored to your target audience and provides real value. You want your visitors to feel like they're getting something valuable in exchange for their contact information. Be clear about what they will receive and how it will benefit them.

By creating an irresistible giveaway, you'll be able to attract more leads to your website and start building your email list. And once you have their contact information, you can begin nurturing those leads and turning them into loyal customers over time.

2. Creating a High-Converting Landing Page: The Second Step to Successful Lead Generation

Once you have an irresistible giveaway, the next step is to create a landing page that will convert visitors into leads.

You need to build a good landing page for lead generation that gives your customers what they want. This means going beyond simply designing something that “looks great.”

A great landing page is free of distraction and focused on the end goal. From the headline and offer, all the way down to the footer, every aspect focuses on conversion - getting the lead.

Follow these lead generation tips to help you get more leads and sales from your page.

  1. Create a simple snappy headline - a short and sweet headline to explain exactly what your freebie is about

  2. Sell the benefits - Highlight the benefits of your giveaway and how it will help your target audience. Make sure they understand what they will get in exchange for their contact information.

  3. Use your power words - sell your freebie with 'power words' like 'Free' 'Instant' 'Easy' and 'Now'

  4. Add social proof - Include testimonials, case studies, or customer reviews to build trust and credibility with your audience.

  5. Visualise your lead capture - make it look tangible for eg. if it's an eBook show a picture of a book

  6. Make your CTA's stand out - your call-to-action should be clear and prominent, with a contrasting colour that stands out. Use persuasive language to encourage visitors to take action.

  7. Make it speedy! - slow loading times can drive visitors away. Optimise your landing page to load quickly for the best user experience.

  8. Make it mobile-friendly - more and more users are accessing the internet from their mobile devices. Make sure your landing page is optimised for mobile for the best user experience.

  9. Keep forms simple - don't overwhelm visitors with too many form fields. Only ask for the information you need to follow up with them.

  10. Test and optimise: Finally, continuously test and optimise your landing page to improve your conversion rates over time. Experiment with different headlines, images, calls-to-action, and form fields to see what works best for your audience.

By following these tips, you can create a landing page that is optimised for conversions and drives results for your business. Remember to test different elements of your landing page, such as headlines, images, and call-to-actions, to see what works best for your audience. With a high-converting landing page in place, you'll be able to turn more of your website visitors into leads and grow your business over time.

Example landing pages for Lead Generation

Here are 2 examples of my own lead gen pages. As you can see they're super simple and to the point. I've also add the form to complete on the page itself (higher conversion rate than a separate page with the form).

You may be wondering why I have a form at the top and the bottom? It's simple, the user is often directed to the page following a social post or a paid ad, so they're already warm leads and know they want the download. So the form at the top speeds up the process for them.

The form at the bottom is for other users that want to scroll and read a bit more.

3. Crafting a Compelling Thank You Page: The Third Step in Successful Lead Generation

Congratulations, you've successfully captured a lead! But your job doesn't end there. The next step is to create a thank you page that inspires action and sets the stage for a long-term relationship with your new lead.

A thank you page is the page that visitors land on after they submit their contact information on your landing page. It's an opportunity to thank your new lead for their interest and provide them with additional value.

“Your thank you page marks the exact moment when a cold visitor becomes a warm lead.”

Here the key elements to put on your thank you page to start converting more leads to the next step in your sales process.

  1. 🙏 Thank your new lead: The first thing your thank you page should do is thank your new lead for their interest. Use language that makes them feel appreciated and valued.

  2. 🎁 Provide additional value: Your thank you page should provide additional value to your new lead. This could be additional resources or information that will help them with their problem or challenge.

  3. 📣 Encourage social sharing: Include social sharing buttons on your thank you page to encourage your new lead to share your content with their network. This can help to increase your reach and attract more leads.

  4. 🤝 Invite to connect on social media: Encourage your new lead to connect with you on social media to stay up-to-date on your latest content and offerings.

  5. 📞 Offer a call-to-action: Finally, offer a call-to-action on your thank you page. This could be an invitation to book a consultation, download additional resources, or sign up for your newsletter.

By following these tips, you can create a thank you page that inspires action and sets the stage for a long-term relationship with your new lead. Remember, lead generation is just the first step in the customer journey. By providing value and nurturing your leads over time, you can turn them into loyal customers and advocates for your business. 🚀
